IT’S BEEN CHILLY…

Happy Monday, Delco.

Hope you survived the Super Bowl — and the cold. Wind chills dropped to negative 14 this weekend, and if you watched the game outside at any point, you're tougher than most. The Seahawks handled the Patriots pretty convincingly last night, and while nobody around here was exactly heartbroken to see New England lose, it was a little strange watching our guy Milton Williams on the wrong side of a blowout.

Good news: the deep freeze is loosening up this week, Valentine's Day has some genuinely great options around the county, and a Broomall native is representing the U.S. on the Olympic stage right now. Let's get into it.

In today's edition:

  • Super Bowl LX Recap — and a Former Eagle's Bittersweet Night

  • Broomall's Taylor Anderson-Heide Competing at the Winter Olympics

DELCO / PHILLY SPORTS NEWS
🏈 Super Bowl LX: Seahawks Dominate, Former Eagle Falls Short

The Seattle Seahawks beat the New England Patriots 29-13 last night at Levi's Stadium — and it wasn't even that close. Seattle's defense was suffocating: six sacks of Drake Maye, three turnovers, and a scoreless Patriots offense through three full quarters. Kenneth Walker III ran for 135 yards, and kicker Jason Myers set a Super Bowl record with five field goals. Uchenna Nwosu's 45-yard pick-six in the fourth sealed it.

The Delco angle: Former Eagle Milton Williams played for the losing Patriots. Williams was a hero of last year's Super Bowl LIX win over Kansas City (2 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery) before signing a 4-year, $104 million deal with New England. He recorded at least one sack last night but couldn't save the Pats. He's now the only player on either roster to have made three Super Bowl appearances — with one ring to show for it.

Bad Bunny's halftime show — the first primarily Spanish-language performance in Super Bowl history — resonated deeply in Philly, home to the second-largest Puerto Rican population in the mainland U.S. Philly Boricuas hosted a "Benito Bowl" watch party. Around Delco, the vibe was low-key compared to last year's Eagles run — no parades down State Street, but rooting against the Patriots came naturally.

DELCO GREATS

🛳️ Norwegian Cruise Line Coming to Tinicum

The 16-acre site near Hog Island Road — adjacent to Philadelphia International Airport — will host 41 sailings per year, generating an estimated $300 million in regional economic output.
